Our office was way overdue for a renovation. It was built in 1986 and still had most of the features from that era throughout... add in high traffic and not much cosmetically done over the years, and it was in desperate need of some fresh and clean life to be added! After searching a solid year or more for a new location and building with no luck, we decided to put a little love into our current place. I happen to love decorating... so we skipped the decorator/design budget and started putting our own stamp on the place.
A workspace should be light and airy, clean, and inviting. I am definitely a decorator that always adds a touch of cozy to every space. It makes the difference! Picking wall colors, floors, carpet, lighting comes easy for me. I like light, fresh, and clean looks throughout with a touch of modern; however, I worked hard on this project to add individual touches that each employee wanted in their office space as well.
This was one of my favorite projects. I am usually doing home renovations, so it was fun to step outside of the box a bit and pour myself into a new direction. I worked hard to create a unique space for each employee while still maintaining a professional flow throughout the building.
Here are all the details :)
If you are local, I am happy to help! I have already had several asking... ;)
Foyer / Entry
Goodbye Paneling!
Removing the paneling, adding LED lights, putting in new windows, and painting the walls an amazing grey (silver lining) with white trim definitely opened up the space and created a light feel as you walk in the front door.

See below for information on the reception desk.
The small table and floral arrangement are from my home ;)
The reception desk was harder to find due to COVID. Many businesses are buying reception desks and creating barriers in foyers and entryways at offices. We ended up ordering this one online from amazon. The color was not my first choice but the only one available in my time frame. We found most reception desks were upwards of 3-5K! We purchased this one for around $1100 and I actually really like the color now that it is all put together. I tried to find art that had a touch of the red wood color in it.
Art above the reception desk was $99 from Home Goods.
Reception desk:
The desk has tons of workspace but no filing cabinets or drawers. I did add a mobile filing cabinet under it for my files. (office depot $59) The desk provides privacy and allows you not to feel like people are on top of you as they enter.
You will see in this picture that I tried another piece of art above the desk and a different lamp choice but I ended up moving that large art to the hall and putting a larger lamp on the corner.
The desk chair is from Office Depot ($79). White adds a pop of color here - in our other offices we definitely kept the darker colored office chairs since the guys are in and out of the field throughout the day. Also, faux two-inch blinds in the front windows of our office were a must. It is a simple touch that does make a huge difference. (Along with the new windows!)
The picture above was from Home Goods ($199) Now in the hallway...
Final look :)
Bathroom
Goodbye paneling, poor lighting, and 80's linoleum...
This is the only bathroom inside the office - (we have another in the shop area) - and it is located in the main foyer area pictured above. We definitely wanted it to look clean and fresh.
Before:
Instead of shelves on the wall again, we purchased this small table for cleaning supplies and toiletries. It also came from Home Goods ($99)
Work Hard and Be Kind Wall Art - $7.99 (Home Goods), Lamp $19 (Home Goods), Greenery (Home Goods), white basket (Home Goods)
We replaced the bathroom mirror that the contractor put in - it was tiny and not so pretty. Purchased this one at Home Goods for $39. Much better!
Same sink, new gorgeous floors, and a basket for the toilet tissue. :) Inexpensive gold-colored paper towel holder and toilet tissue holder from amazon.
Manager's Office
A Touch of the ocean instead of a large touch of paneling :)
Our manager wanted a calm space with touches of the beach... and we gave her just that! She now has a cozy space to call her own while at work.
Ignore the boards between the cabinets... they are now gone!
Art and Chair from Home Goods - Chair $199
Table ($49) and Lamp from Home Goods
Outside manager's office door... Art - Home Goods.
File And Copy Room
Simple and Clean.
I love this photo above... shows how open our office can be when all office doors are open. Standing in the manager's doorway, you see through to the copy room, then to the owner's office, next is a single estimator's office, and lastly a large office for two estimators where the art at the end is seen.
Owner's Office
Goodbye, green and cream!
This office was as simple as grey and white paint, new lighting, a new desk and side chair, and new art. He also asked for a touch of the beach...
Desk - Office Depot Chair - Home Goods $299 Art - Home Goods All other items were existing.
Single Estimator office:
Existing desk, new art, fresh paint, new lighting, and new carpet were easy changes.
Back Estimator Office:
We made this office larger by getting rid of a closet that was beside the room. Made a huge difference
Most of the art in this office was existing. New pieces from Home Goods as well.
Hallway
Home Goods is the best place for side chairs, small tables, art, lamps, shelves - all the personal touches that bring projects together. However, it does require patience and many stops. Home Goods stock is different every day and you must be willing to dig. It will save you money if you have the eye for what you are looking for and the patience to hit different locations each time!
